Ato Fabil's Murals and Paintings

* Mpeasem Mural
This Ato Fabil mural is located in a private home four miles north of Cape Coast, Ghana, in the small village of Mpeasem. You may arrange for an appointment to see this work of art by calling 0224-86-5060.

*Cape Coast Restaurant Mural
Ato's second mural is located just two blocks toward the center of Cape Coast from the Castle in the “Cape Café.” This restaurant was originally a part of the “Women's Center” of Cape Coast, thus the theme of this mural is primarily about women.

* Auction Paintings
You are invited to 501 16th St. in Bellingham, WA, U.S.A. on July 22nd, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. for a silent auction of the work of the young Ghanaian painter, Ato Fabil. With the help of friends we've been able to gather eight of Ato's recent paintings. When you come, please bring others with you who might be interested in seeing or buying Ato's work. Also, feel free to contribute some after dinner munchies and drinks so we can make this auction a party, too.

We find Ato's work exciting and very unusual for West African paintings in terms of the thoughtful creative attention he has brought to his work. Ato is also a young man dedicated to his art and also to the development of Ghana. We are trying in any way we can to help him help himself and others.

Ato's paintings are somewhat abstract in nature, however, most often the images he uses are recognizable and they have a definite African flavor. The paintings that will be auctioned on July 22nd are mostly 20 inches by 30 inches with one being a bit larger and they have all been done on canvas with oil or acrylic paints. The paintings will each start at $125. Hopefully enough people will want them so the money, all of which goes to the artist, can help Ato move forward with his plans for an artist's center near Cape Coast.

You may stop by earlier that day to have a good quiet look at the paintings if you like.

Call in bids may be made between 7:00 and 10:00 Pacific Time by calling 360-223-5074.
