There are many ways to become involved in Anansi and support our mission.
Become a Sponsor!
Choosing to sponsor a student's high school education is a four year commitment that changes a young person's entire life. It is the most direct and powerful way to support Anansi Education's mission. The yearly cost of high school in Ghana is $700 USD and includes tuition, room and board, books, and most school supplies. Sponsors receive yearly letters from their students and are encouraged to write back.

Benefit Auction
The key relationship of fundraising and cultural exchange is celebrated every spring at our benefit auction. The event exposes supporters to the varied and beautiful artistic traditions of Ghana and provides a tangible connection to the culture of West Africa.
This auction is Anansi's annual fundraising event and the primary opportunity for new sponsors to learn about the Anansi project. Each spring masks, sculptures, jewelry, and the collections of painter Ato Fabil Annan are brought from Ghana by Anansi founder, Kathryn Roe, to be sold in this auction benefiting Anansi. With dinner and music, it is also a lovely opportunity for sponsors to gather and celebrate Anansi.
Visit Ghana
Ghana is a country famous for its smiles and warm personalities. Attractions include history, wildlife, and cultural activities. With roots in West African travel, Anansi has been the host to many visits. While in Ghana, several sponsors have taken the opportunity to meet the students they sponsor during visits either at the boarding schools they attend or in the villages where they grew up.

Volunteer
The Anansi team provides free placement for adult volunteers in the Central Region of Ghana. With board members and long established network in Ghana, we are able to arrange for volunteer opportunities in education, the medical field, the tourist industry, agriculture, and business administration. Placement through Anansi has made it possible for volunteers to work in communities where volunteer-based programs do not otherwise exist.
In the United States, volunteers contribute Anansi's annual benefit auction and assist operations.
