The second I heard about that Whatcom was offering a trip to Africa my heart was set on going. I have always dreamed of exploring there. I find the different culture and way of life to be fascinating and what better way is there to learn more about it then first hand experience. There are so many different aspects of the trip that I am looking forward to from the art of Grand Bassam and the week in Ghana to the interaction with locals and the sites that I have only seen in books. All of our senses are going to be in overdrive, not even to mention the emotional impact these two months will have on us. I can't even comprehend what it is going to be like. The people are going to be of another world over there with different values and priorities. I think that this is going to be an eye opening and valuable experience for each and every one of us going. I can't wait!!
