Enamel, real ground glass, is "wet inlaid" into the cloisonne' leaf pattern, prior to firing in a kiln. this is the third layer on top of previously fired enamel. Hard agate mortars and pestles are used to grind enamel without adding impuritys of their own abrasion. |
