Miracle
Aster has joined our family as of May of 2003. We agreed to have her live with us when her owner passed away of Cancer. We adore our male "Isle Eagle" so much, we wanted to make sure his mother was able to live her life out in happiness. Aster is very laid back, smart and easy going. After spending more time with her we now KNOW where Eagle gets his disposition! Daily she amazes us with her intelligence and antics. Additionally, she is VERY athletic and does not get fat! We love Aster and she is truly a sweetheart. She has a classic coat type and requires no shearing......just light brushing to maintain her wonderful appearance. Aster's babies are always spoken for and command a lot of attention.
Prior to our taking Aster, she had six babies and had done nothing else except be a mom. We have put packs on her, groomed her, loaded her in our van and to our shock, she acts like she has always done these things. Aster's pedigree is FABULOUS! She is a Doolittle grandaughter with other llama greats such as Black Velvet PL, Bask, Verbena, Poncho Via and more!
Unfortunately, Aster lost her Toby baby in March 2007. Our vet felt that the otherwise healthy male cria had an umbilical cord wrapped around it's neck during birth.
Aster has been accurately measured as being 44 inches tall at the withers.

The Canadian
x Aster

Aster had the last Canadian baby born after he died in the Winter of 2005. He looks to be a classic and has the coolest personality. Jeff called him the jumping bean as he runs everywhere and plays all the time. The story behind his name is.....
His mother got bred on the way to Western Regionals 2004 late at night. The breeding was only about six minutes with the Canadian being up and down because he was so arthritic. Aster had not had a baby in nearly eight years and was 17 when she had Miracle. The Canadian died two months after we bred Aster to him, so we thought the name was especially fitting.
