In 2007 we had a horrific rescue situation here in Whatcom County involving 41 neglected llamas. Many of the above people assisted in the care, rehab and adoption of these animals. Because of this situation and the frustration associated with people getting animals (llamas specifically) that they know nothing about, we decided to offer a free information day to the adopters of these rescues. At that time we also opened this event up to anybody interested in or that already owned camelids that wanted to learn more about these amazing creatures.
What grew out of this situation was a very positive, informational and fun day. Last year we had over 75 people that came to see how to care for (shearing, shots, toenails, etc.), feed and train camelids. People who attended this event got a binder filled with lots of information and a free lunch too! Because it was so successful we have decided to offer this event once again for FREE!
On April 24, 2010 at JNK Llama Farm in Bellingham, Washington we will once again be offering this fabulous service to you! This is open to anybody that wants to learn more about possibly owning or taking care of camelids. There will be no animals available for purchase. On Sunday April 25, 2010, we will be offering a "Get Connected" training clinic.
