After his marriage, he purchased a farm near Wichita in Sedgwick Co, Kansas where he lived for about 18 years and raised most of his family, later moving to Wichita where he purchased business property in 1900 which he owned at his death. About the year 1900, he purchased land in Oklahoma in the county of Kay, which later became valuable as oil land. This land he also owned at his death. He also invented several valuable farm tools which he sold all over Kansas and Oklahoma. Sarah Ann Glover, wife of William Stewart Brown, was born in Warren Co, Illinois where she lived to womanhood. After her marriage to Mr. Brown, her parents, with the younger children, moved to Kansas and settled near Hutchinson, where they lived the remainder of their lives and where they are buried. Her father, William Glover, was a veteran of the Civil War, IL Vol. Inf. and served in Tennessee and was stationed for some time at Fort Donaldson.”
