FLEMING

of Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Ohio

Research has not located the Fleming family in Pennsylvania, although it is evident from the few records found that at least several of these children were probably born in Pennsylvania. It is also possible that some or all of the members of this Fleming family lived in Kentucky during part of the 1780's and 1790's.

1. Unknown FLEMING. His spouse has not been identified.

They had 5 children:

  1. Elizabeth FLEMING, born before 1765, died before 13 Jan 1808, and married John LOWERY. Elizabeth's will was dated 24 Oct 1807 and recorded 13 Jan 1808 in Butler Co, OH. Her will named sons Abraham and Fleming, both not of age, and daughters Sarah, Eliza and Martha not of age. The will also named sisters Martha Wilson, Mary Hundman (probably Hyndman), Isabella Goudy and Margaret Robison. Executors were William Goudy and John Bigger, Jr.

John Lowery's will was dated 21 Sep 1801 and recorded in Hamilton Co, OH 28 Oct 1801.John's will, in addition to naming his children, also names his wife's sister Mary Fleming. Executors of the estate were William Gaudy, John Bigger, Jr and John Sterret.

This family information was learned from the wills of John and Elizabeth Lowery recorded in Hamilton and Butler Counties, respectively.
