Larrabee Elementary School PTA Fund Raising Activities
Some of the Larrabee PTA's fund raising activities are described briefly below.
- Auction/Bingo/Dessert Night
- This is one of the PTA's three main fund raisers, held in the the spring.
- Jog-a-Thon
- Parent volunteers help organize this, one of the main fund raisers for the Larrabee PTA.
- School Book Sale
- The PTA sponsors a book sale at school for Scholastic Books or with a local vendor.
- SCRIP
- SCRIP is becoming one of the PTA's main sources of funds. Please see What Is Scrip? and Getting Started At ShopWithScrip.com.
Larrabee Elementary School PTA Sponsored Student Activities
Some of the ways in which the Larrabee PTA supports Larrabee students are listed below with a brief description.
- Assemblies
- The PTA sponsors various speakers and performers.
- Art Odyssey
- The PTA funds and organizes art education taught to all students throughout the year.
- Books and Breakfast
- Students read to families and friends before school. Food is provided.
- Chess

- Choir
- Choir is a before school program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
- Climbing Wall
- The PTA supported the purchase and installation of the climbing wall. Parents help supervise the use of the climbing wall before school.
- Cornet Bay
- The PTA helps fund the transportation and food for this experience. It is a one-day field trip for K through second graders, and an Arts and Science three-day, two-night camp experience for third through fifth graders.
- Early Release Classes
- Enrichment classes are offered after school on Early Release days.
- Mountain School
- The PTA helps fund this three day, two night science education experience for fifth graders.
- Mount Baker Theater
- Students have the opportunity to attend one performance during the year.
- Student Directory
- The student directory is produced by parent volunteers and funded by the Larrabee PTA.
- Sock Hop
- The sock hop is a 1950's theme party held in the spring.
- Yearbook
- Parents help take and collect candid photos for the yearbook, as well as coordinating the layout and printing of the yearbook. The PTA has funded the printing costs of the yearbook so that each student may have a free copy.
