A quiet moment from the road, a place usually related to speed and rough movement, transforms into a an opposite opportunity with big value for calm and authentic sense of place. Probably the country with more silence professed by its population. Japan is perfect when you seek for peace. Natural gems such as Kamikōchi are a good example. I was told to walk with extreme caution if I was alone over any path of the Japanese Alps. Bear attacks are common and foreigners are used to move by car. Locals, nevertheless, just walk. So I took the same choice. Immersing into a wooden forest with deep greens and soft light through the trees with raw shadows as a result. Hypnotized by the color palette in front of me, that seems to be chosen on purpose. Some opaque greens blending with darker definitions. This completely winding road invites the eye forward into an endless way. A unique story behind the picture.
