A very peculiar cinematic landscape on the main road number one through Iceland. The valley of Þórsmörk remains mysteriously silent until the strong whistling winds interrupt.

The red house is the leader of the tiny constructions above the micro-village that shares land (and hills) between a very few couple of families. Red is the only color that highlights in the opaque Icelandic winter. There was a game I played during my trip driving through Icelandic roads. Trying to find red houses from the window in the middle of nowhere. Just like when I was young and counted red cars while my grandfather took us to the countryside. The extreme concept of neighbors closeness and a simple but noble construction coexistenceIt's inevitable the feeling of places with expansive, minimal and deep atmosphere. Large-scale farming is the main activity for locals in the Southern municipality of Rangárþing Eystra including dairy, sheep and greenhouse produce. All supported by the abundant geothermal heat of the region. A unique story behind the picture.
