"Pink Australian" - the world's largest microalgae salt lagoon (Fine Art Framed Print, limited edition)

Sometimes bright bubblegum pink, sometimes red and sometimes lilac. In the Indian Ocean drive of Western Australia, a lake changes with the seasons and even with the time of day. Its colors are due to the extremely high level of salinity that gives Hutt Lagoon its unusual hue. Workers pump sea water in the world's largest microalgae production facility. It took me a couple of hours through the coastal road number 60 to enter the small fishermen town of Port Gregory and stop the truck where the way stops because of the salty water invading it. The 3,000-hectare site cultivates "Dunaliella salina", an algae harvested to extract natural beta-carotene for food coloring and dietary supplements. A unique story behind the picture.
