Mireia is the bass player, composer and band leader of Periscopi Invertit. Besides her activity as a performer, Mireia also runs music workshops and offers 1:1 electric bass tuition. She has over 15 years experience as a music docent and performer.

Periscopi Invertit beautifully intertwines traditional Catalan folk melodies with North African rhythms and jazzy influences. The band explores the fusion of ancient folk tunes with vibrant funk, Latin, and jazz arrangements while maintaining a connection to Mediterranean sounds and grooves. 

The band’s debut album was mixed and mastered by Felipe Arevalo (Universal Productions sound engineer), became available on all streaming platforms on 31rst October and was officially launched at Toulouse Lautrec on 6th November.

Mireia, a graduate of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in 2010,  as a bass player has made her mark in the UK performing in the musical show Millennials at MTFest (in the Turbine Theather), as well as festivals like Medicine Festival (main stage),  Wilderness Festival, London Eid Festival, The British Academy Summer Showcase 2019, Africa Oyé, Journeys Festival, 15 th London African Music Festival, The big Feastival, African Diapora, Better World Festival, Rising sounds Festival, Village Beach Festival, Green Village Festival for artists like Mim Suleiman, Nelson & Friends, Koroleko, Malunga and Berber Difusion.
